CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2008 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, GREG BUTLER!

Gregory Finished 7th, Dan Best finish 4th
TWIN STATES October 25,2008 Grand Finale'

There are more pictures in photos.
The driver of #7 purposely turned down on Gregory and made him spin into the wall  says this is payback for a race in Monadnock,  New Hampshire which Gregory beat the other driver without crashing him or damaging him.. I tape all of Gregorys' races. I will wait for a final decision, but I will say that the owner of the track THREW THIS DRIVER OUT OF TWIN STATES today. This endangered my sons life, over a lousy 2 point lead, hitting him in a vulnerable position sending the truck head on into the wall. The other driver stayed on the gas, pile driving Gregory into the wall. This is what they call payback??? a life???could have been lost, physically harmed??? would that be payback???? and they still think they haven't done anything wrong???

Gregory has had a terrific season, and we are very proud of what he has accomplished. He has worked very hard on all his race cars and trucks, raced clean and has gained respect from racers that race as clean as he is. Alot of people came over to us to see if he was ok, but then to say that they could not believe how blatant the other driver crashed him, it was dangerous and they supported the tracks owner in throwing their team out..

When I started this website I said I was Mama Bear and I protect my cubs, but now I have two racing and I would feel the same way if it was done to someone else.  I would not want someone on my team to "PAYBACK" in this way. I would have second thoughts in his abilities in driving and maybe take a look at the spotter as well..... I'm just saying....

When my dad raced in Savin Rock, West Haven,CT  many years ago, I remember as a little girl, he let my uncle drive his race car, my uncle did something wrong, got out, kicked the race car. That night I thought my father was going to kill my uncle in the pits, just for kicking the car.  My father was a pretty tough guy, I thought, wow, what's the big deal, in those days you never questioned my dad.  As the time went bye and I got older, I realized that it wasn't for kicking the race car, it was for my uncle using the car as a weapon, it CAN kill or injure or mame a person, just because YOU have a temper.
When I heard that Gregory was put in the wall by #7 for PAYBACK for something that wasn't even true (which I have on tape) that was not caused by the 85, this was INTENTENTIONAL>>>. I have a BIG problem with this. I stll get upset of what could have happened especially when lifestar was at the track just prior to the race for the enduro cars for a car that was t-boned by another car.

Dan finished 4th!!
Dan had a great race, he narrowly missed the big pile up in the picture below. It took out the two trucks in front of him. On the restart, Dan started pole next to the truck that is 2 points in contention with Gregory for 3rd in points. In turns 1 & 2, #3, Lindeman passed Dan and moved in on #7, Correll.  By lap 2, Lindeman had the lead. Dan was in 4th, behind #83 who was in 3rd. Gregory was also moving up in the field.  Gregory eventually passed his brother taking over 4th.,   #64 got around Dan taking over 5th. While #83 was doing his best to catch Lindeman (#3).  Gregory was battling #7  to take over 3rd.  On lap 16,  #7 came down into Gregory  at the backstretch forcing Gregory low into the dirt. In turn 3 going into turn 4, Corell turned down into Gregory's rear quarter causing him to hit the front wall and be done for the night.  Correll was black flagged for rough running and parked his truck in the pits. The owner of Twin States came over and threw the driver Chris Correll out of the race track for intentionally causing Gregory to go into the wall, he never took his foot off the gas and afterwards the owner of the truck said it was payback for a Monadnock Race. (Explained above)  At the restart, #3 and #83 pulled away from the others to battle for 1st.  #64, Dan, #90, & #46 were having their own battle.  #64 managed to pull ahead and capture 3rd with Dan finishing 4th, his best finish for the season.

Dan  has shown so much improvement and determination.  Watch out for him next year!!!!
I think if we were the kind of team that would use one truck to block or take another truck out, this would have been the time to do it!!!!  Good thing we race clean!!!! Dan has learned a lot this season and has really been a asset to the team, he has kept his head on his shoulders.

This was the last event for the 2008 season. Andy Lindeman #3 only needed to take the green in order to clinch the championship.   Congratulations to him and his team, they are all great people and he truly is a GENTLEMEN RACER. Andy is the type of racer that he races as he would like to be raced against, just like Greg and Dan, CLEAN!!!!

Gregory won the 2008 Rookie of the Year in ARTS.  Greg also finished 3rd in the 2008 Point Standings 162 points behind Lindeman.  Dan finished 10th in points!   Not bad for being a first time racer! Great job !
We are very proud to say that they both raced clean and fair all season and  one never raced before!!!!

Twin States Claremont, New Hampshire October 25,2008
Beginning of race didn't even make it across finish line.
Danny started outside 4th position.  Gregory started  in 7th position. When this pile up happened in turn 1 it was in the 1st lap, Gregory got a left rear flat tire from one of the other trucks that spun and had to go in to get it fixed. Luckily, he was able to return to the race quickly thanks to the great crew we have!  Some of the other trucks were not as lucky and were not able to return to the race. Gregory had to start in the back, and being in the "chase" for 3rd position (2 points away from the #7 truck)   Gregory had to work fast and clean through traffic to get to the front.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

October 18, 2008 Thompson International Speedway Finale Weekend Friday & Saturday Gregory's heat race was very intense. He was racing the #46 side by side very close. 46 won it by about a fender! Greg finished 2nd.
Gregory started the feature race in the 3rd position. The #64 (team mate of 46) had pole, outside pole was the 46. Gregory started 3rd and #03 was next to Gregory.  Gregory and the #46 pulled away from the other trucks. They were racing door to door for most of the race, while the #0 car that started 11th, who used to race with the series years ago, was working through traffic in the back... with 2 laps to go... it happened....

Gregory 9th Place Finish

This is with 2 laps to go to finish the race, Gregory spun 2 times down the entire front stretch and returned to finish 9th. No caution was needed.
He is now 4th in points, 2 points behind the 3rd point leader!  Points are very close this year! If he can finish one spot ahead of that driver next Saturday, he will finish 3rd in points and rookie of the year. Here's hoping!

This weekend seemed to give many problems to trucks.  Three trucks lost motors. The #3 and #12  lost motors and they went back to New York to put new motors in. The crews were up all night then drove back to make the race. Now that is dedication! Good job guys!

The # 7 crew lost their engine and also returned home to change motors by the time we came in on Saturday.

The #83 crew was up all night fixing suspension problems also, after another truck tried to pass 3 wide in turn 3 causing a wreck.

Dan 11th Place Finish
October 18, 2008 Thompson International Speedway  The only practice he had was the heat race.  Dan is really doing well handling the truck. They went 3 wide, Dan was on the outside, was pushed up high to the wall, "kissed" the wall. He handled the truck, kept it off the wall got it back in his line. We are very proud of the way his first year of racing is going! Knock on wood~
During  the lineup for the race, Dan's truck fan decided not to work anymore which caused the truck to over heat.  Richie, John, Dad, Amber and Myself were already up at the fence waiting for them to come out on the track to race. Richie went running down to the line up next we saw a cloud of smoke coming from the trucks, John and Richie went running. Dad and Amber followed and I ran to the trailer for a extinguisher, thinking there was a fire (mother's second worry). But, Richie and Amber ran in before I got it and said it was the fan and needed fuses that didn't work. Greg, John and RIchie got it all fixed just before they got called onto the track. Still no fan but the air was cold enough to cool the motor during the race. Kind of like my old Volkswagen in the 70's. We made it back to the fence just in time to see them making it just in front of us! Here he is!

 Gregory 4th Place Finish
September 20, 2008 Monadnock Speedway Winchester, New Hampshire   In Gregory's heat, he started 4th came in 2nd.  In the 30 lap race, the starting positions for the front 6 trucks were: #'s 46,83,07,12,3 and Gregory was the sixth. The #83 & 46 were up front  battling for first and second, Gregory had an exciting battle for the 3rd position for about 6 laps with the #3 truck.  A caution came out for Dan which gave the field a chance to re-collect. 83 and 46 were just ahead battling for 1st, while Gregory and the #7 were right on their bumpers.  Another caution came when the 07 spun with 6 laps to go, #3 stuck to the 83, with the 46 following and Gregory in 4th position. The track conditions abruptly changed and seemed to get  really damp at one point, all the trucks seemed to get a little loose. It was a beautiful day in New Hampshire as this was Monadnock's season finale!  We thank all of the fans at Monadnock who support us each time we race at your track and we will see you next season!

Dan 8th Place Finish

Dan missed his first practice due to some carburetor problems, John and Rich fixed it by the next practice. He had a good heat race feeling more and more comfortable in the truck each time he races. He spun once because he pushed the truck a little more than he normally would and the track was a little damp! He is getting more confident!  In the race, Dan started in the 10th position and  finished 8th! Dan won the ADP Rivet contingency award for the night. Good Job Birthday Boy!

Gregory 3rd Place Finish/Dan10th Place Finish
August 23, 2008  Waterford Speedbowl Waterford, CT. Dan started 14th in his 2nd race ever! I  In the heat race finished 7th place!  In the race, Dan was more confident, hung in there, stayed up with the other trucks, and avoided 2 crashes!  His crew made some adjustments to the truck that made him feel more comfortable in the handling which gave him the confidence with the truck and also with himself. He really is improving with each practice and race, and is trying very hard! I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to see all four of them working together!  Dad and 3 sons!  Plus, a grandson watching his dad! It is just awesome!

Gregory is 2nd in points by 1 point GOOD LUCK!
August 23, 2008  Waterford Speedbowl Waterford, CT. Heat race finished in 2nd place. Gregory finished  3rd started 5th inside position. It was a tight battle for the front 8 trucks, bumper to bumper for position in the first 10 laps. Then, the nail biting started! The #7 truck lost it in turn 4 clipped Gregory's right front fender & door.  Gregory was able to continue in 4th position.  The leaders took off about a 1/4 of a track ahead of Gregory for the next 10 or so laps. Gregory was able to catch them with 5 laps to go and make a clean move under the 4th place truck to move into 3rd spot.!

The third & 2nd place trucks were racing side by side for 2nd place coming out of the  4th turn, the 3rd place truck got loose and pushed the 2nd place truck up the track a  little, Gregory cleanly passed both trucks on the inside never touching and stayed in 3rd til the end. (AS SHOWN IN PICTURE ) The rest of the race Gregory was in his line and giving enough room for 4th place truck to pass but he choose to lift his back end as shown above. Gregory has moved into 2nd in points, 1 point ahead of  # 7, 4 points ahead of # 83.  It was said that Gregory did not race like a gentleman, Can you see by these pictures or any that I have posted where he was the one that  was "roughing"?  That is what the complaint is.  The officials agreed that Greg ran a good, clean race. If there was a problem it should have been taken care of between the two drivers, not at the tech station, complaining to people who had nothing to do with it and loud enough so that dad could hear it.  I feel like I have to be a Momma to grown children and have to prove that my son IS a "gentlemen racer" who is a rookie driver in this division, and knows how to get the job done cleanly when he needs to. He has been racing for four years now. Remember, I said this was written by his Momma!  Momma bear protects her young
and old ! It kind of takes the excitement out of his winning when there is this kind of childish behavior, I know he does drive like a gentlemen because that's what he is!

Gregory is 3rd in Points tied with Gee
Perry!
August 9, 2008 Monadnock Speedway Winchester, New Hampshire. What a hard night of racing! We have been through Waterford and Stafford hard racing! But, up to now the trucks have been very tame!  Parts were flying! Trucks against a wall, Gregory got pushed up into the wall, but, kept on truckin' . ( more in photos).  Damage was done to the left front again.  The next lap the same truck got into another truck who pushed into Gregory, and then the truck parts started to fly,! This allowed the #3 truck to pull away from the pack, but Gregory was catching up to the 3 truck and ran out of time. Both boys did a great job driving and Richie did a great job keeping the trucks on the track!

This picture shows Gregory on the right in second place being congratulated by his brother #25 in 9th place on the left!

August 9, 2008 Monadnock Speedway Winchester, New Hampshire. Gregory's heat race: Gregory spun in the same spot as Dan, but in a different scenario.  He had a little help with his spin. It created a lot of damage, but he managed to finish 2nd.  The crew worked very hard fix the upper A arm which got bent and cracked on the left front, rebuilt fender, front bumper, used a lot of duct tape and rivets!   We lost two rims tonight too.  They got him back in shape for the race!  Besides the #25 had a tranny leak which needed attention.  ButlerMotorSports has one heck of a crew!!!!

August 9, 2008 Monadnock Speedway Winchester, New Hampshire.   Dan's heat race: Dan's racing debut went very well. We were very proud of the way he handled the car and himself. He had a few problems in turn 4, as did a few other people. In this picture he spun the truck on his own, it happens as he is learning and becomes used to different tracks, he has to learn his " lines" and the truck. He really showed improvement by the end of the night and had a 9th place finish. Great job Dan!

August 9, 2008 Monadnock Speedway Winchester, New Hampshire Pit Party. The fans were really nice, being from out of state we didn't realize that so many people have been cheering for the #85 truck!  Now that they have meet the driver of both 85 and 25, they have double the trucks to cheer on!  We appreciate all the fans who came out on the track and that come to watch the races in New Hampshire and Connecticut! If it wasn't for the fans, we wouldn't have a reason to be doing what we are doing.  WE THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, from the bottom of our hearts Butler Motor Sports Racing Team, Dan and Gregory all thank-you!

These are my three sons! Left to Right... Youngest to oldest....!!!! Driver #85 Gregory, Car Chief Richie, Driver #25 Dan
Working all together in this sport with my sons, and my husband I am truly blessed.  I was watching all four of them together and tears welled up and I thought if there is never a win it is okay for me, for this is my win, having my husband and boys. This is PRICELESS! Thank-you Lord.

THE HEAT RACE: 2nd Place      A Photo finish again!  The #94 truck beat him in the last lap at the flag stand! By 1/2 fender.

July 19,2008 THE 100 LAP FEATURE: 96 DEGREES 50% HUMIDITY Outside!   Unknown inside car!  It was so hot in the car that Gregorys' heels on his shoes melted to the insulated floor boards. As you can see, in lap 50 or so Gregory was running in third, a truck cut down on Gregory which caused Gregory, the 12 car and the 3 car to go into the dirt causing problems with the " toe" in the truck(see pictures in PHOTOS). Gregory went off the track, but due to the extent of the problem, there was not enough time to fix in time to finish the race. He had to drive it with the front end really "out of whack" and had to restart at the end of the trucks, he worked his way through the traffic to catch up to the leaders again to finish in the 6th place. He raced really well and we are very proud of the way he drove! With all the melted shoes, burning eyes, sweating profusely, heat in the car I don't know how he did it! Love of the sport!!! Great job!
Thank you to the crew and a special Thanks to Richie who never sits and is constantly working on the truck!

Monadnock Speedway Winchester, New Hampshire, July 12 , 2008     www.allstarracetrucks.com

THE HEAT RACE:  We had one heat race tonight with all the trucks in the heat race. The track was so hot and humid. There was a spin that happened just in  front of Gregory. Gregory came in 2nd, with the #83 in 1st.

25 LAP FEATURE  RACE: Gregory had outside pole with #7 next to him, Gregory lead 5 laps until #83 took the lead  and kept it until lap 25,to win the race,  Gregory fought for 2nd place with #3, until 3 took 2nd place away from Greg. At the checkered flag, Gregory and the #7 had a battle for 3rd place which Gregory won by a bumpers length!  “We work together, we win together” It really felt good today, Thank-you crew for all your had work and continued support!

                                                                                                                                                                 6th Place  Finish
June 14, 2008 Monadnock Speedway Winchester, New Hampshire

Started on outside pole. The 41 truck was supposed to start on outside pole but dropped to the back which moved everyone up one position. In the first lap Greg passed the 07 truck to take the lead for the next 13  laps until the number 3 truck passed him with the 83  following closely behind leaving Gregory in 3rd position racing hard to get his 1st position back. The number 83 truck lost his wheel in lap 14 causing a yellow. The next 3 laps #3 truck led  and  Greg followed in 2nd place until the white flag dropped and the #7 drove under Greg too hard in turn 3 and they went for a synchronize spin in between turns 3-4, taking the two of them out of their positions. He finished 6 . A HEARTBREAKING day. So close yet so far for the ButlerMotorSportsRacing Team.

Monadnock 6-13-08
June 14, 2008 Monadnock Speedway Winchester, New Hampshire

Gregory won his heat race and was very excited and looking forward to the 25 lap race. They were racing against rain so they made the feature race 25 instead of 30.  The truck was running awesome and he felt good on the track.
Gregory had received a very nice compliment from a fellow racer which was something that he was very glad to hear.  That racer said Gregory was a racer that was one he didn't have to worry about driving next to and that he liked racing near Gregory, without any fear of being taken out of a race. Isn't that a nice thing to say.

May 30, 2008 Twin States Claremont New Hampshire  25 Laps
The weather was beautiful, the "host" of the track is so nice! The "host" welcomed everyone with a handshake and a Thank-you for coming!  The race however, was not so beautiful! It is hard to see by the picture but, this is the first lap of the feature. The truck behind our 85 is the 94 truck which was trying to get to the front way too fast, he had 24 laps to go. The spin caused our transmission line to break and Gregory was able to restart at the end of the pack without realizing the line was broke.  When the truck starting smoking he drove off into the pit, and the truck was on fire.  Thank God he was able to get out quickly, our crew grabbed our container of lemonade and threw it on the fire before anyone could grab the fire extinguisher!  John was trying to fix the transmission line and got burned on his arm pretty bad.The emergency track crew came up but the fire was out and Gregory was already out of the truck.
**** Gregory was awarded the Capital Motorsports Contingency Award. http://www.cmwraceparts.com  Thank-you very much !!!*****

Next truck race:  Monadnock July 14,2008

 Allstar Truck Series 30 Laps

www.allstarracetrucks.com
Gregory started 10th, the last race of probation period !  This is the first time he has been on this track. They didn't get much practice the speedway had a lot of racing going on!  Gregory avoided the #3 truck who spun in the first lap, nearly missing Gregory. Gregory was battling for position with the 02 truck for 7 or so laps and once he passed that truck, going three wide, he worked his way through the field to catch up to the leaders to place 5th.  It was very nice to be congratulated by the officials and other drivers on a good run, it really is encouraging to him and the crew!
NEXT RACE:
The next event for AllStar Race Truck Series is Friday, May 30th at Twin State Speedway.  Racing starts at 7pm.  Twin State Speedway Claremont, New Hampshire

4th PLACE FINISH !
April 12,2008   Waterford Speedbowl Opening Race
           Allstar Truck Series 25 Laps
    www.allstarracetrucks.com

Gregory had to start in the back of the "pack" as he is a Rookie in the "ARTS" division. When you are a Rookie you are on probation for two races, you must start in the back of all the trucks. He made it through the field and the four fastest trucks were a half a lap ahead of Greg.  He was able to catch up to them and battled for 4th place with Seth Duval (#16). With two laps to go he finally made the pass on the inside to win the position, the race went green to checker.  Gregory had a "push" from his spotter to step it up and you can catch up to the pack.  A lot of credit to goes to Paul Gruhn, for the extra push that was needed to make it to fourth place!  It was a nice clean race and a great race to watch, especially when there isn't any cautions!  Gregory felt very comfortable racing in the truck and had a lot of fun!  It was good to be back at the "home" track and a lot of other drivers from different divisions came to congratulate him on his finish.  The NEW Waterford Speedbowl seems like they are making changes for the better and we are eager to see everyone again!  We had a great time with our fans at the pit party!  Thank-you all your encouragement and  support.

A special thanks to Greg, Richie, Dan, John, Paul and Amber for all the help to get the truck ready for this season, and a VERY special thank-you to all the spouses who make it possible for us to have such a great crew.
